I know a young woman who is a total hard body. She has a perfect six pack, she is very thin, her body looks dried, clear cut muscles (not big, but clear cut). I guess her BMI is around 18. If it wasn't for her head I'd say she looks like a thin teenage boy.
I read somewhere that a desire to have a body like men do can be caused by traumas in the puberty period. So, an adult woman sort of refuses her sexuality, tries to beat a man on his field. Could you suggest any articles or books relating to this issue? I want to understand the rationale that stands behind a woman's decision to have muscle body hence look like men.
The funny part of it is she knows that most men dislike her body, it disappoints her extremely yet she still works out as she finds this kind of body beautiful.
A lack of appreciation for femininity combined with extreme admiration for masculinity so much so that they try to become a man rather than just admiring a man. The reverse sometimes happens in males too. I find this sad.
Because I like the way it feels. To maintain a certain weight, keep toned, sleep better, have more energy, and look great. I'm not thin btw, I have big hips and a big bottom. My legs are thick and toned and my waist and arms are slim and toned. I don't look like a boy at all, I look feminine and like I take care of myself. Not very woman that works out looks like a teenage boy or is super thin with muscle.
I work out to stay fit and in shape. As to why some women work out for the defined muscle thing, etc... probably for the same reason men do. She probably likes her body that way and does it for herself (not men). For what it's worth some people are attracted to it, some aren't (and that goes both for women concerning men with lots of clear cut muscle/bodybuilding type and men for women with clear cut muscle/body building type like the women you mentioned).

Surprisingly, there are guys who LOVE that look on women! There have been threads on the Fitness forum where guys have posted photos of their ideal female body, and they've been exactly as you describe; boy bodies with a woman's head on top. Some of our posters on the Relationships forum think that type is hot, as well.

Go figure.
I like that type. . .
There's tons of women in my gym, they work just as hard as everyone else.
Dunno where that dude lives. Women in Colorado kill it at the gym!
