Not sure what the big deal is. I'm 47 years old male and scared to death of getting old. I recently bought a Ninja ZX10 (crotch rocket) motorcycle. I never in my life been on a motorcycle and love the hell out of it. I feel young when I'm on it. But all I hear from people my age and younger kids is I must be going through a MID LIFE CRISIS... What is a Mid Life Crisis anyways. Can't I just have fun and enjoy my life?

motor cycles attract other men and the death angel. you dont need either.
here is a wonderful personal story. after many years of involuntary single status i gave up. the only thing i had to show for it was 17 years of ball room dancing. but when i hit retirement i suddenly became
a girl magnet
and a cat magnet
you figure
ps a tip about motor cycles ridden by people near 50. the subconscious hates work a lousy marriage, rotten kids and a life of being a thankless wage slave and wants to die. you are cooperating with your worst nightmare when you buy that widow maker.

In my book you can. I'm a live and let live type.

You will be too old to enjoy as well as dead before you know it. If the motorcycle is what you want, and I don't see you hurting anyone by enjoying it, then by all means have some fun!

Don't listen to the "mid-life crisis" BS. Anyone who tells you this is rude, cruel, and out of line. It's none of their business. You have to live your life for you.
Go in with the attitude that the joke is on them. I'd consider breaking away from such people. Sounds like they enjoy raining on your parade.

It's when you do something very unusual for you, out of order. And sometimes it disrupts a normal life routine of those who are around you and they mind that. So they call this disruption - a middle life crisis. And it's seen as a negative thing because people don't like to be disturbed by others' unusual desires. It's like you're saying: you didn't expect that? Surprise. This is what I want. And they say: we didn't sign up for this...
