More and more, in the past few years, I dream about just being on the internet. My whole visual dream apparition is just my screen, and often it is just text, and it seems like I can read the text, I can make out some words, but most are just gibbereish. And then I click on things, and just get more gibberish. It makes even less sense than the real internet.
I've dreamt of Facebook and online poker, as those are the two online activities that consume most of my time. The former alarms me far more than the latter. As for how often...luckily, not very. There's an obvious correlation of 'likelihood to have an Internet dream' with how much I've been using the Internet. Today, I was online nearly all day, with a brief 2-hour break for soccer, so the likelihood is enhanced. Also, I think that being online late at night, as I am now (I am many time zones away from you), increases the odds more than any single factor. But I'd still not expect to dream of Internet-related things tonight, or any night. Of course, what percentage of dreams are remembered? I remember very few dreams in general, so...there's also that factor to consider. Your specific dream is kind of of interesting and seemingly unique to you, but who knows. Dreams are strange.
I've never dreamt of being online, but if you're online a lot, especially before going to bed, makes sense you would dream about it. I frequently dream of fixing up the house. This is the third house I fixed up for market in four years. I'd hoped to stay here awhile, but that's not going to happen. Maybe in the next house, I'll dream of being online instead of endless prepping.
My dreams are mostly animals. But I've been on safari about 45 times. And watch a lot of animal shows. Which is before going to bed. Theya are always fun dreams never scary or anything about getting hurt by the animals.
My hubs dreams alot about things he did when he first started his business in 1971.
That's interesting. I don't think I ever had a dream (that I can remember at least) about being on the internet. I have a lot of re-occurring dreams, not exactly the same but similar settings--a more recent one is being in a huge place that's usually a shopping mall sometimes ones that have hotels attached to them. I often dream about driving around in cities too.
I dream about designing web pages, developing business campaigns and writing correspondence. I get some of my best ideas that way, and frequently follow through during the day, even if it means working online for 10 or 12 hours. Being online for that length of time or longer, is normal for me, but less now than when I got started, 20 years ago.
Not sure how healthy it is, and this lifestyle needs to be accompanied with lots of exercise, good diet and human RL (real life) interaction or long term health problems, physical and mental, may occur. Business books advising entrepreneurs and CEOs usually bring this up.
