I'm getting ready for a personal move from Texas to the Bay Area.....this weekend! I am so excited...but I feel like all I want to do is throw up from nerves which is not helping me to get anything done....Lol. I have a lot to pack & get ready before Saturday...clothes, dishes, personal momentos, knick-knacks, pots & pans....& I haven't even started yet cause of how I am feeling. Then that just makes me panic more!

I have never experienced this kind of excitement & happiness with the same amount of fear & anxiety at the same time.......I feel like my stomach is turned inside out....

Anyone else ever experience this?

Yes, everytime we moved.

The worst one, the most intense was leaving my home country to a place I’d never heard of as a new bride.

Ok, first of all, Don't Panic! hehehe

Moving adventures are memory creators.

What you are experiencing is not unusual. You need something to focus on, a distraction to take your mind off those butterflies fluttering about your stomach.

For me, the actual packing process does the trick. My suggestion is to turn on some upbeat music you like or perhaps a favorite movie you've seen a thousand times that you can listen to and still follow while you're packing. Pick a room and start packing up knick-knacks, pictures, books, stuff you don't have to use right now and go from there.

I believe your mind, in busy packing mode, will be able to conquer those pesky butterflies.

Best wishes on your new adventure!

I am happy I don't have to think about being a bride on top of a new job, new apt & new place to live!

Don’t be hesitant to ask for help - it could keep you on task (and reduce anxiety) by sharing - and embracing - your excitement.
