I'm not grateful at all. Life has been a pita and I never asked to be here in the first place. I can't wait for it to end actually, and hopefully this whole exercise was for nothing and I can sleep in eternal nothingness when it's finally over.
I am constantly uttering the serenity prayer (change what I can, accept what I cannot change and be wise enough to know the difference) just to get through each day's stressors and disappointments. I also take the time at the beginning and end of each day to count my blessings and express gratitude for them. It really does help remind me that there are good things and not just bad things happening in my life.
I find humor to be a wonderful stress-reliever. I'm blessed to have developed a very good sense of humor in my adult years and there isn't a day that goes by where I'm not finding the humor in something. I enjoy using that part of my brain and I have great fun in sharing witty repartees with friends, some of whom are equally witty. Laughter can be a most effective balm. It makes for a much more pleasant life, IMO.
