At work, I often strengthen myself with concepts I find favorable to me, such as certain music videos which match my definition of life. Catch is, every so often, I really need to look at them to recharge that buffer.....even if the memory of what has been seen is strong, a loop in memory.
Today, I was hit with an incident that took the wind out of my sails and I needed an additional cup of coffee, bought, after a pot of cowboy coffee at the ranch, to keep me going. Would it have been necessary had I kept the construct recharged from the videos watched at "Electrabase"?
That particular question is for me to answer..........but do others recharge their inspirational batteries through similar means?
Umm... Well, I often keep depression at bay and manage my moods using energetic and upbeat music. I'm prone to severe depressive spirals if I allow them to happen. If I notice negative self-talk in my head, and I play music rather than sitting in silence letting the words in my head eat at me, then I can redirect my brain. I can also motivate myself to do physical work that way.
One of the most effective things I've found for this, is March Fourth Marching Band. High energy, circusy, jazzy brass band stuff.
Listening to Mr. Sinatra definitely brightens my day. I listen to New Order's 'Blue Monday' every morning as a sort of ritual. Something about that song just sets everything off right for me.
