Israel Keyes creeped me out. Nobody knew his victims were murdered because he buried the bodies in remote places, nobody will ever know how many he may have killed. He was on no one's radar until he made a screwup.

Here's where I have a problem with trying to measure evil.
If an evil act makes a person evil why doesn't a good act make a person good? How many evil or good acts and where is the line drawn?
What about mental illness? Is all evil the result of mental illness?
How about "good" people we know who did something horrible in their past but keep it a secret? How about if it was intentional? How about if it was unintentional but had terrible consequences for hundreds of people?
Is evil only evil if it is done to "innocent" people?
These are questions Psychology still struggles to answer.
I believe that evil exists but find quantifying it and defining it to be very subjective.
Here's a "for instance." We read about a man who has molested and murdered a child. Then we read some responses from normal people which say things like, "I wish I could get ahold of this guy" and then go on to describe the most vile things they would like to do to him. That one always raises questions in my mind about who and what is evil.
Maybe even raises the question if evil is contagious?
Albert Fish abducted, raped, molested, and ate children. He also wrote letters to the victim's parents taunting them and outlining the gruesome details of what he did to their children.
