Darn shame they didn't contact a Pest Control company that does Bat Control. If the roof wasn't leaking it would have saved them $ 30,000 or more.

A simple net could of been placed over the Tile roof so the Bats could get out, but not back in. Bats eat billions of Mosquitoes each night and would find a new nesting spot. Bats are important to our environment and removal or relocation is regulated by Chapter 482 of Florida laws under the General Household Pest License.

The roof could have an EXCLUSION made so the Bats couldn't get back in. Something as simple as canned spray foam could block any entrances. In the case of rodents stuff some hardware cloth or a Chore Boy pot scrubber in the hole before foaming so they can't dig back in.
