I just spent a ton of money getting our pool and deck refinished.
The owner of the pool company asked what color we wanted the pool water to look like. We both emphatically said "BLUE"...

Well, the finish they used (krystalcrete......krystal blue) has a Green hue to it and not blue at all. I am so disappointed in the color of my pool that I am ready to hire a lawyer to try and get it refinished. It just is not very inviting, if you know what I mean.

Has anyone else had this experience ???

How long has at been that way? We recently had a pool put in and the water was green for the first week or two but is fine now. It just needed some chemical treatment due to the city water.

My question as well, how long ago was it done? It will take 2-4 weeks of water circulating and brush scrubs to really expose all of the color chips in the finish.

They should have shown you photos of the water color with the different finishes. Most pool companies will do that. Or they send you to a place that has that finish on the pool so that you can see what the water color will look like.

Who did you use, and have you contacted them about it? What was their response?

My 2 cents here. Try first to work it out witht the contractor. Like others have said sometimes its out of te control of the contractor, time chemicals etc. Call the manufacturer of the coating and ask what you coating was supposed to convey. I think straight to the lawyer is a bit harsh, and a bit premature.

Did you happen to look at the bags of KrystalKrete dry mix? They say the color on them. I took a picture when the pallet was delivered to my home just in case there was ever any question about what they used.

I don't want to start trashing a company...........YET

I have complained to them constantly. He keeps saying it's blue and I keep telling him he's color blind. It's like talking to a wall.
