For what it's worth, got this from EMS. Not too worried bout the wind but that kind of surge will bring the gators over the sea wall. Does anyone know if a 7.62 FMJ steel core will take one out? If we loose a screen and Mr. Big Gator wants kitty in the slider (again, yep, real guys like cats!), animal control will be busy and I may need to take matters into my own hands.

It looks like the gator shows on the travel channel that they are using 22's to kill them but you have to hit the right spot on there head.

I've seen the 22 in the 'spot' on tv but my a$$ aint getting that close. If I have to (hopefully not) I'll see what a 7.62 does. Wont post it though. Those buggers are protected. Why, I don't know as they can take care of themselves.

12 gauge slug will work just fine.....but I doubt you have to worry. I don't have a sea wall and they can walk up whenever they want and take their choice of kittys in the lanai...never had one come up...not even for the fat slow one!

All depends on where the SE quadrant ends up - that's the part of the storm that will push water up the harbor; right now, it doesn't look good. Way West, or farther East would be good for us.

Thanks all. I feel better about the gator situation. I don't have any slugs here but there are alternatives.
I haven't seen Mr. 8 footer in our canal for a few weeks. Hopefully he's moved on.
I've heard 3 to 5' surge still. Weather Channel is still saying 5 to 7' for us. We're 9' above and feel for others that are less. We have a plan of action and I hope those lower than us are doing the same.
Now I'll worry bout the snakes! YUK!
