Dh and I are shopping for a canal lot in P.G. and some lots already have concrete docks others have no docks. With multiple lots in contention - trying to factor in differences in price, size, shape, canal frontage, sailboat or powerboat, and dock? So confusing.

Does anyone just have a ballpark figure for a concrete dock - per foot? Or most docks seem to be 30ft. Any guesstimate would be appreciated.

Your saying concrete dock do you mean seawall? Most docks are preassure treated wood
My house in PC was built in 2000 at that time my 80' seawall and 10x15 dock with a 6200 lb lift was $10,000 I'm not sure what that is in today's money but it must be lot more

Is it P.G. or P.G.I.? I think the town maintains the seawalls and docks in PGI.

A lot of the docks in PGI are concrete, but you will save a lot of money going with pressure treated lumber. I know the city maintains the seawalls ($500/yr tax assessment), but i don't think they maintain any docks.

I don't recall ever seeing a wood dock in PGI, which makes me think they're not allowed.

If you are talking about Punta Gorda Isles, here is the link to the Waterfront Property Owners Guide - http://www.ci.punta-gorda.fl.us/user...ownerguide.pdf. It will tell you all about the seawall and requirements for docks. Not the prices though. You would have to contact a dock company to get price quotes for docks. Some places to try: Charlotte County Seawalls, Honc Marine Contracting, Keesling Construction, and ProBuild.
