Was it just the McDonald's? There aren't any notices posted on the Charlotte County Utilities web site.

Here: Precautionary boil-water notice for LaBelle and Charlotte Harbor - NBC-2.com WBBH News for Fort Myers, Cape Coral & Naples, Florida

It says it affects only Charlotte Harbor Water Asso., not Charlotte County Utilities customers.

Well....wold be nice if someone could explain how it got there!
I had my water tested twice, from two different companies.

I bet, if that area was researched...something was there some time ago.

When I lived in Maryland we had a new well put in being that our existing one was a shallow sand spike. It was sunk to about 100'. Shortly after that, the county discovered radium in the 100' deep aquifer. After that, new wells had to go down into the next aquifer which was over 300' deep. They say NOW the water is safe (of course, now you have to deal with high clear-water iron stains and taste). I wonder how long before that aquifer is contaminated.
I was happy to be on city water here, until that is, I found about about all the leaks that occur under the slabs that some rumor to be from aggressive chemicals put in by the water company. I'd say we may as well resort to drinking rain water, but then we'd have to contend with acid rain! Sometimes I think there is no winning.

Well, it appears based off my research that arsenic is naturally occurring in some areas. It can be caused be orchard spraying also. It is not readily absorbed by the skin and ion-exchange or reverse osmosis will remove it.
