Hello all, I am needing to move in the next three to four wks to a rental home with my wife and three children. We need to be strategically located in between Englewood Community Hospital and Fawcett Memorial. Need to be within 20-30 minutes of each.

Looking online we found very few rentals that are either 1) NOT furnished, and 2) larger than 2000 square feet. Where are people getting there rentals from??? I called one realtor and she laughed, said she had a waiting list of over 40 people looking for an annual rental in PC area. The whole town can't be furnished rentals? If someone knows of a site or a good realtor, please let me know. Looking for at least a 3 bdrm but prefer 4, at least 2 car garage, no condos. To be picky, throw in some good schools, gated community with a pool, etc. But at the last we just need a place big enough for us to fit into without driving each other crazy. Budget of around $3000/mo. Thanks!!

Patrick

with that budget and travel requirements you should also consider Rotonda which is deed restricted but not gated...every house will have its own pool

Well still no luck. Have tried all those sites listed and more. Found a couple decent homes but they were rented. Called so many realtors I can't keep track. Looks like the whole rental scene is just people spending their time up north and wanting to cut their costs while they're gone...very disappointed...

Not everyone trusts Craigslist, but I know several people that use that site as landlords and tenants have found rentals there too. It has been very difficult for our rental office to place people. Rates have gone up and properties are limited.

Have you tried apartment rentals until you can find something. Toledo Club Apartments in North Port is a great location for kids. I have a few buyers that are renting in there now and really like it. The only problem is, I don't know if they have furnished units. Toledo Club Apartments, North Port, FL

I just had a buyer that bought a totally furnished home in Riverwood and they plan to rent it out, but they are doing some remodeling and it won't be ready for a few months.

For more information on Riverwood Realty Rental Programs, contact Mark Fanstill, 941-380-0654 or email at riverwoodrealtyrentals@comcast.net

Most of this area is seasonal, so finding annual rentals is really tough.

North port would still be local to your work, has good schools, newer houses and is a more family oriented area. Have you checked for rentals there?

Did check craigslist already for PC and the surrounding areas. Saw a ton of homes that I would rent but nothing over 2000 sq ft where I would need to be. It is difficult to be with three young children and all of their energy in a small space. I don't think we could handle much of it for very long. We have all of our furniture and wanted to move everything now while I am in between jobs instead of trying to fit it in on a wkend off of work later. Plus the kids do like to sleep in their own beds, we like to use our own dishes, towels, etc. Many of the homes for rent display characteristics and tastes of an older generation owner...

Did find one home in North Port but it is out in the country, pretty isolated. I live in Ocala, Fl now and moving to PC was supposed to be our chance to move nearby some sort of water, fresh or salt, and moving right into that home is like taking a step back. I'm an hour from the water as it is, so there is really nothing gained by moving to North Port but we may have no choice I suppose. Wish me luck!

We just moved into a rental like you are looking for here in North Port and its only like 30 minutes to the beach so its kinda like living the beachy life

We also have young kids and needed a lot of space - we love having our own pool - but it was not easy finding a pool home to rent here- all and all not that many rentals here either
