Anyone have recommendations for a real estate attorney in the PG/PC area? This would be primarily for for reviewing, writing addendums, and other contract issues. Not for litigation.

Thanks,
Julie

Goldman, Tiseo and Sturges. 623-4096. I've used Ernie Sturges personally on several deals and been satisfied. Alternatively, if you're willing to go to Sarasota, Steve Greenburg is a very well respected local attorney. I've closed many transactions with him and always found him to do an excellent job.

We have used Richard J Rosenbaum on two property deals in the last two years and find him efficient at getting the job done.

Richard Rosenbaum will not offer any legal advice. He is strictly a title company agent.

Thank you for the replies.

What we were surprised to find here when we started looking for a house was realtors and lenders telling us attorneys are not usually used in the purchase of a single family home. When we started calling around to law offices they tended to hesitate when we said we wanted an attorney to represent us in the purchase of a home, as if this was out of the norm.

When the prices were more than double what it is in Chicago and the attorneys we talked to acted like they weren't sure why we wanted to hire them, we decided to go it alone.

We found a house, got a contract and all seemed well until the deal hit a glitch. So we asked questions of the realtor, the lender and the title company. Getting answers was like pulling teeth until finally they all said something to the order of , "I've never seen this before." And shortly after that came the suggestion to get an attorney.

But no one knew any who specialize in real estate contracts. It looks like Sturges does. We'll call him tomorrow. Thanks.

We just bought recently in Rotonda and no attorneys were involved except I guess the Title Company had one. Very easy and smooth process here. And you wanna complicate it and drag it out indefinitely by involving lawyers..... why?

We're still dealing with the freeking lawyers in NY in the sale of our prior house. If it weren't for them it would have been done long ago.... and we have to actually PAY these scumbags....

Because the seller has a title defect, the closing date passed, the seller has an automatic 30 day "cure" period and the buyer has pretty much nothing but to wait and see. And there's other things we need to look at.
