When I was a senior in high school in 1980 I worked at a Hess station pumping gas after school. A local guy used to come in with a 1969 Z/28 Camaro that was Rallye Green with white stripes. I fell in love with the car and can still remember standing at the pumps watching it drive away until it was out of sight. Several months later I got my drivers license and was looking to buy my first car when I found out the green Z was for sale. With some help from my parents I bought the car for $2200 and I didn't even know how to drive a 4 speed. Somehow the car survived the abuse of a typical stupid teenager. Fast forward 35 years...I still have the car and started a frame off restoration several years ago. I'm doing all the work myself and my time is limited so it's taking forever. My friends from high school can't believe I still have that green Z!

My husband drives a 2004 Cadillac CTS-V; looks like an old man's car but it'll do 0-60 in under 5 seconds.
The 30th Trans Am was one of my favorites. Same year as mine. I've done work on the CTS-V's and they are awesome cars!

That has happened to others. I spent a lot of time on the chassis to make it stiff and launch straight. Before the wheelie bars the car would drag the rear bumper!

Not THAT's cool! Great story and can't wait to see the result! I'd give my left one to have my '69 Charger, 426 Hemi back!

Doesn't have to be special as long as it puts a smile on your face!

Thanks guys. She definitely does that. She sounds like she could go up against the tough guys even though she's just a little 6 banger.
