I swear I have never seen so many wonderful people-- of all ethnicities in one place before. Where do these people come from? Are midwesteners and other areas of the country that wonderful as well or has PC cornered the market on wondefulness??

I have to wonder why so many nice people are concentrated in this one area. The senior population seems to be especially vibrant. Perhaps something in the water there? Also the younger generation seems to be notably engaged, considerate and more than willing to pitch in help out wherever the need arises.

Of course no geographic area can be completely free from a handful of malcontents. The kind of folks that mouth off in public forums and seem to take pleasure in the suffering of others for example. But hey, we've visited a number of areas throughout Florida over the years and the Port Charlotte area remains near the top of our list of favorite places to visit! Looking foward to getting back there next year as a matter of fact!

Touche' Tymbee, well played.

Can't wait to be one of those people, soon, January!

I've also noticed, they're model citizens, excellent tippers, incredible fisherman, take care of their lawns, enjoy their nice cars and boats, smile back when you smile, enjoy life and generally, are just nicer people.

I was taking a leisurely ride up Manasota key the other day, admiring all the million dollar homes and some guy getting his mail had the nerve to wave to me (five fingers.)

It's all us nice people from Wisconsin that have migrated down there.

The reason we moved to the west coast of FL instead of the east coast was simple. The people are a lot nicer!

I love it here ,
