Sorry. Nothing kinky here. I'm just looking for somewhere that does alterations to leather wear; namely my chaps and jacket that I wear while riding my motorcycle.

Both have sewn-in liners. A bit warm for riding in FL to say the least. Since I still ride up north too, all the way into December, I don't want to just cut out the liners but rather have them altered to where I can zip them in or out. Does anyone know of any seamstress (?) or tailor (?) that does good work with leather?

Hello, MikMal,
I am a industrial seamstress and work with bikers road leathers, BUT I'm in West Central Nebraska.
Could you message me, and I can have you email my business email, and possibly send me a few photos. I have a pretty good idea what you need.
Is the leather heavy hide or lighter weight?
I have no contacts in Florida for you.
Thank you

Have you tried a shop that sells motorcycle chaps/clothing? Usually every professional seamstress, someone who does alterations, will have an industrial sewing machine that will sew through that leather like it was butter. A cycle shop should know someone.

There are 2 places I would check.

Bill's Shoe Repair 4014 N Tamiami Trail # E, Port Charlotte, FL 33952 (941) 629-6100 He has done patches on heavy leather jackets. He might be able to help.

Or...Anchors Away Embroidery Barb (941) 743-4770. She does patches for the American Legion Post 110 among others. She might be able to do it as well.

Seems you could buy a light duty pair for a lot less than getting those modified unless someone wants to buy themselves a job.
