Looked like black snow outside today. Retired here four years ago and this is by far the worst we have seen.

I agree that this year has been the worst I've seen them in a few years. Normally it would just be that we'd see them on the windshield of the car while driving. Now I actually see them flying around outside and getting into the lanai. I never knew what lovebugs looked like solo until last night when I realized that what I kept referring to as "those boxelder bug looking things" were actually unpaired lovebugs. Definitely more of a nuisance this year than I've encountered thus far and I will not be sad to see them go.

Are the lovebugs still bad? Hubby and I need to make a quick down to the area and I'd just as soon wait until the bugs start to go away.

So what's up w/ these love bugs you mention? I take it they area seasonal thing,... typically how long. We've made 3 trips to PG since January to house/condo shop. I do vaguely remember us laughing in early-mid April about so many bugs hitting the car at night, so now I wonder if that's what it was.

Do they bite or sting? Just a nuisance?
