I am single and moving from MS for a job that is in Port Charlotte. I am considering both Fort Myers and Port Charlotte. Salary is in around 50K. How bad is drive to Port Charlotte from Fort Myers. Which has more young folks. If anyone could give me some advice because I have never been to the area.

I would not care to commute to Ft Myers from Port Charlotte. Traffic is insane, even on I-75. Port Charlotte is not a bad place, just not a big place.

You VERY DEFINITELY DO NOT - repeating DO NOT - want to make that commute everyday. Please take a look at North Port or Port Charlotte and live there. On a map, Port Charlotte looks to be deceivingly close to Ft. Myers, but it isn't not to mention that travel time isn't what it should be (when you consider the distance) due to inaccesibility to thoroughfares.

Live where you have to avoid I-75. I would look at Punta Gorda, easy access to 41 or 75.

More young people in Fort Myers and more to do for young people but it is a hard commute everyday, I would look into North Port
