She was diagnosed with a mass in her intestines four days ago. Had been acting normal up until then.
Friday night she got really lethargic, and didn't improve overnight. Took her in to the vet, and she died before the vet could even give her the shot.
My baby was only eight years old. The sweetest, gentlest cat in the world. I will miss her forever.
I'm so sorry for your loss! At least you know she didn't die alone or in great pain. In my belief system, she is running the great catnip fields of the sky with my Katrina, who died Thursday, and lot os other new friends, all healthy and happy.
I'm so sorry. It is especially tough when you are not prepared for it. Keeping you in my thoughts. Just remember you did have 8 years to love her, and she knew that.

Tangerinepuddle,
I'm so sorry for your loss. I hope it brings you comfort to know what a fast process this was for CheezIt. And I'm sure it was comforting to CheezIt to have you nearby in her last days and hours.
I also believe as does SouthernBelle that this is far more beyond mortality here than the Rainbow Bridge. I believe open fields, or favorite places to play are where we'll reunite someday with our believed pets.
Somehow, I also believe that those who have taken time to post on so many posts here, have lost pets with unique traits. I believe our beloved pets are meeting each other, making new friends, in their playgrounds, open fields, and play areas they love where they are now. I also believe they are helping each other cope with losing their humans. Love is a shared emotion and I believe our furry friends feel and felt love for us too.
Hold onto the feeling of love and what special memories you have.
I'm so sorry for the loss of Cheezit...it must have been such a devastating shock. Cats do go quickly to the other side when sickness sets in, they just know when the time has come to move on. Cyberhugs to you, and RIP Cheezit...I know she has found many furry friends to play with at the Rainbow Bridge and is not feeling pain anymore.
