this link was mentioned on NBC17 News earlier and it would be interesting to know more about the Triangle Regional Transit Organization - their website doesn't give any details other than a PO Box in Morrisville and the schedule for the workshops throughout the Triangle over the next few weeks. I am confused if this is a new body or part of the existing Triangle Transit so would appreciate any clarification.
what the Triangle badly needs is a Light Rail system and any efforts to solicit support from the public should be applauded. Realistically any dialogue now will take 10 to 15 years to come to fruition and by then, if the current growth rates are maintained, the Triangle will benefit from a Transit system rather than continous road building as we currently seem to have.
This link looks like it's probably a PowerPoint presentation of what will be covered in the meetings this week. I think the more people that show up at these meetings might give the impression that people really want an improved tranist system. Looks like alot of it is focusing on light rail, to link the cities together. Seem like that would work alot better (and faster) than the current bus system.
