It is supposed to be a beautiful weekend. Does anyone have any ideas on where to go to enjoy the foliage? Are there any festivals going on?

Google Hutton St. It's near the 1.50 theater and has to-die-for orange trees. A lot of them!

I'd go on a hike (maybe to Umstead Park). Take a camera!

Lake Johnson is usually beautiful this time of year and a nice walk. I also really like Schenk Forest! Don't know of any festivals though! I think this is the calm before the storm of holiday events! The flea market will probably be nice this weekend!

There are foliage/sightseeing tours on Jordan Lake which are fabulous! We've done 2 of them with groups of friends. The boats are pontoon boats, hold up to 10 people and you recieve a guided tour of the lake. In addition to foliage, some of the things you'll see are bald eagles, herons, cormorants, vultures etc. They serve soft drinks, crackers/cheese and fruit but you're free to bring along your own munchies! You'll need to book ahead. Don't forget to bring binoculars! Here's the link:

If you really want an up close and personal look at foilage... you can come help rake my yard. =0)

We're trying to decide if we're gonna hit Lake Johnson or Umpstead Park with the pup this weekend. The cooler weather has him FULL of energy, and we've got to work some of it out of him before he tears the house apart.
