I'm a 42 yr old professional white single female with no kids. I'm more of a sit at home with a good glass of red wine and read person that going out. I like the outdoors and would rather be out sailing and hiking than sitting inside on a beautiful day. I sit on my balcony more than in my living room. I love scenery (trees, lake, birds) so am probably more rural than urban chic. I'm not a mall person at all, prefer quaint little areas. I'm somewhat allergic to kids. I'm looking for an apartment/townhome in Raleigh. I like upscale features such as granite countertops, nice appliances and a nice pool area. I don't mind if it's an old building that is built well that has been converted or a new complex that is built well. My key is quiet (hence the built well)! I don't necessarily need a trendy or hip area. although I'm not adverse to it, as long as it's nice. I prefer something that isn't over run by kids, the apartment/townhouse that is. If it's someplace like Cary that is known as family-friendly I don't mind if they are in the community, just would like to limit them in the complex. I've found complexes that don't offer 3 bedrooms or a playground area the best for avoiding this. I know this is asking alot but thought I'd throw it all out there and see if there is anything close to what I'm looking for. I just want to come home to a nice, quiet home. I'll be working in RTP. Rent can be up to $1200 a month. Again, I'll take suggestions of anything that closely matches this. I've looked at Weston Lakeside, The Arboretum (Cary), Park and Market (North Hills), Alexian (North Hills). I like them all but wanted to get other suggestions.
Although it is already on your list, I definitely think the North Hills area is probably more of what you are looking for - I have friends there, no kids, etc and they really like it. There is something nice about the convenience of shopping within walking distance, plus north hills has a great farmer's market every saturday!
Can't really comment on the kid thing...Fair Housing and all...besides, can't really say that I KNOW!
