I just found out that I need to have my NC driver's license within 60 days. Is
everyone required to take the written test?
How long to I have to get my vehicles registered? What's the procedure?
Is there a website that would give me instuctions on registration, inspection, etc? Thanks for any info that you can give me.

Ell

NCDOT Division of Motor Vehicles: Vehicle Services

NCDOT Division of Motor Vehicles: Applying for a Driver's License or Learner's Permit?

If you surrender a valid license from another state, the road test requirement is at the discretion of the Examiner. Proof of residency, liability insurance on your car and Social Security Number or Proof of Legal Presence are required

Thanks for the responses. I guess my biggest question is when do I pay the property taxes on my vehicles?

A family member just moved down to Charlotte and she said you have to take the written test, but not the driving test.

She suggests that people get the book and study before going down because after years of driving, you forget the written rules.

I just relocated from NJ and had to retake the written test not the road test. The following site is very helpful. Read over it and about 98% of these questions were on the actual test. It was a piece of cake. I finished the test in about 10 mins. Good luck.

Thanks guys.
I'll make sure that I go over the questions before I go over to get my NC license.
I'm sure there are some things that I've forgotten.
