I am looking to move form NJ to Raleigh area...I like to know what is the good area to look into...my requirements are.

1.My kids are on their own, so need of good school area
2. Low property tax (of course it is less than NJ but to get an idea how much)
3. Safe area

May be interested in homes 2000 - 2500 sqft(any idea what will be the price ?)

Read through this sticky first: //www.city-data.com/forum/ralei...des-photo.html

Then if you have specific questions on neighborhoods, it is best to post them in the Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill subforum.

The mil rate on property taxes in Wake County is about $.9166 plus fees. Chart here: http://www.wakegov.com/tax/taxratesf...s/default.aspx

A house in the 2100-2500 SF range will run from $200,000 to $400,000 depending on desirability, location, etc. There are very few unsafe areas of the Triangle except for a few downtown spots.
