I can imagine the laughter at the DoT office when they decided to close 2 lanes on Westbound I-40 on Saturday 20th November between 540 and 147 from 6am and 9pm Surely they realised that NC State were playing UNC at Chapel Hill at noon that day? and that thousands of Raleigh residents would be travelling along that section of I-40.

No doubt they will be watching their TV cameras to observe the resulting chaos on all roads around the Triangle as a consequence of their actions. Maybe the project manager gets a 'medal of honor' for disruption way beyond the normal

A clever plan by the UNC grads who head DOT* to suppress Wolfpack fan turnout at the game.

*Note: I have no evidence that the DOT leaders are UNC grads. Makes sense though.

THANK YOU for this post! I took it in mind when I had to venture to Cary and North Raleigh today. I avoided 40 for the trip home and made my life much better. THANK YOU!!!!
