Just curious what others are experiencing. We moved here about 9 years ago and as I recall the bill for water/trash/sewage etc. was around $40. In the last year our bills are right around $67. We use 4 CCF of water. Two person household, don't water the lawn or do any water intensive activities. This seems very high to me, but maybe it's average for the City of Raleigh?
I'm paying a water bill for the first time and it's much higher than I expected. Maybe it's just because I'm currently potty training, but my bill was $87 last month! We have a 1900 sq ft house and there are only three of us.
I pay around $70/month for me and my young-adult son. We live in an apartment, so no outside watering. We're pretty thrifty with water, so I'm surprised it is so much. I just looked at our last bill and we used: 4790.00 Gal. Online calculators show that is about average based on our household size.
I moved here 8 years ago and remember paying around $40/month back then as well.

Water is quite expensive here - about twice what we paid in Northern Virginia. Our average bill is $75-$85 per month for a family of 5. We have a rain barrel to water the garden, so no water being used outside.

We experienced the same thing with about double the water bill we paid when we lived in the DESERT of Phoenix Metro - you know, the place that has no water?
But our real estate taxes more than doubled, our bar/alcohol bill nearly doubled, and our groceries cost more, particularly meat. This ain't a cheap place to live, in my book. (nevertheless, I love it.)
Wake gets you coming and going (they charge almost double the fee on the going). Much higher than both Durham and Orange counties. In Durham my bill was always sub 50 and now in Wake its between 80-100.

But think of all the money you will save on Depends.
