It sure is. I am going on Vacation in Emerald Isle at the end of Aug. After that I am going to do more research and then make another trip to beautiful NC.

I was just in LI a few weeks ago (born there and moved to NoVA when I was 7). It would take over 100 years before this area was as congested as LI, if not even longer. Nassau county has double the people of Wake in much less then half the land area. I love NY, but no way will this area resemble LI anytime in my lifetime (I'm 30). Even if Wake doubles in growth within the next 25 years as some project, they would still be light years behind LI in congestion. Now as far as traffic, I can see us getting much closer to LI in that department within the next 25-30 years, but Long Island (at least closer in LI) is not as sprawled, because they have already built on every available inch of land and most if not all new construction is urban infill, they also have a great public transportation system which lessons much of the would be road traffic.

I agree. I grew up in Brooklyn, moved to Queens and now I am in Long Island (N. Babylon) - NY is way, way to overcrowded. You cant go to the movies, dinner, or shopping without waiting a long time. Forget about driving. I wont go there.
