I may be moving to Wake County this summer and have been researching information about your school system. It is a little confusing but I beleive that you will be moving to a neighborhood zone system for this fall.....??? Is this correct? I am used to this type of system in VA and love it. I do not want my child bussed out of our neighborhood area...any information would be appreciated.

Ok, ok, so technically there are no guarantees, but by and large, most kids attend schools close to home. Isn't it like 86% or so? Depending on where you move, it's most likely not an issue.

Well, those places are small enough that you may not have a school anywhere near your neighborhood, but if you do? Your kids will likely go there.

Are you moving from a very small town? Fuquay is the largest of the 3 you mentioned and even it isn't particularly large.

You'll be fine there, then. I suggest Fuquay, personally. It's small, but not tiny.

The commute to Bragg, imho, isn't horrible from there. My first husband was stationed there and we lived in Raleigh (he got permission because I was in undergrad at the time). Man... that was a tough ride for him. Especially if they got called up unexpectedly.

Is Angier even in Wake County? For some reason I thought that was Johnston County.

Angier proper is actually in Harnett County, just over the Wake County line.

But there may be houses with Angier addresses that are in Wake County...not sure.
