...anybody know why?

That general location for a while was a kiss of death for restaurants/food places, especially when the recession was in full roar. Lots of places closed down--Original Soup Man, Ruby Tuesday, Stonewood Tavern, Applebee's, Woody's, C&H, etc., but most were replaced quickly by new places.

A snow cone place appears to be slated to take over Local Yogurt's old spot next.

Not a fan of yogurt but I <3 snow cones.

Is this the shopping center off Falls?

They stunk for price and selection. Then the final death blow was Skinny Dip.

Try Skinny Dip on Falls at Millbrook. Many selections each day, tons of toppings, 39 cents per ounce. YUM!!!

Now Open in Ghent, Pembroke and Raleigh, NC!!! - HOME

JJingle--yes, this was next to the Harris Teeter off Falls.

Saturnfan--I will have to give them a try! In fact, the website says they close at ten--I might go now!

If you're ever in the Crossroads area (sounds like it would be a bit of a trip!), there's a similar place called Marmalade Skies....it's not a chain (owned and run locally, nice folks!). It's behind the Lowe's Home Improvement.

OMG...I just got back from Skinny Dip! *swoon*. Okay, I was ROOTING for Local Yogurt...because they are local--based in Durham, I think--and they buy all of their toppings locally.

BUT, SKINNY DIP--I've never seen anything like it! I see how it would spell the end for Local Yogurt. I love the concept. Kind of like a yogurt salad bar. And their tangy flavors are FABULOUS! They remind me of the "naturally tangy" I used to eat as a kid at Yogurt Pump in Durham. I hadn't tasted anything CLOSE to it in years, but the boysenberry I got from Skinny Dip is the closest thing to it! YUMMO!!!!!!

Skinny Dip I liked but was disappointed one time so have a hard time going back. Their original flavor is pretty good but one time it was very icy. Actually difficult to eat since it was hurting my teeth. Apart from that though I thought it was pretty good they just need to work on the interior design, looked kind of mish mash.
