I would have bet you lunch on this one...
Great! Cheap fix so you had a couple of bucks for the HVAC dude.
Since the GFCI has to be the first in line on the circuit, it is usually the one closest to the breaker box.

And the $200 was easy to spend, wasn't it?
You should be able to squeeze a few more years out of the heat pump, I would think.

$200 vs. $4-6K for a new HVAC system? Yeah that was a pretty easy choice It felt SOOO much better last night! I just hope it'll last at least another year, maybe two. Again thanks for your help with the GFCI. To think I used to work for a home inspection company a few years back...I should have known there was another GFCI somewhere...

Builders are cheap. They use one GFCI to protect a whole string of outlets.
