And how slow do they go?

I've heard the roads near RTP slow down. Any of the other major roads/areas?

I know at least in the DC area there are "hot spots" that without fail have traffic issues...

Six Forks road north of 440. The closer you get to 440 the more congested it gets. Usually the traffic move at 30 to 35mph.

After 430pm:
I-40 going east from exits 279 (intersection with Durham Freeway; RTP area) all the way to exit # 289 (Wade Ave.), exits 290-293 (Cary exits).

In the mornings is all the way around: traffic is very slow coming from I-40 East towards RTP.

Ain't that the truth!
If you build it, they will come (with or without a good road system).

Capital Blvd southbound in the morning and heading north out of town in the evening. Very heavy congestion in certain spots on this road.

We live on Capital. The growth of Wake Forest has made it a nightmare.

Was decent a few years ago.

I avoid highways at all costs & considering I don't commute to work at all I can only tell you about the roads in my neck of the woods. I do have to take my daughter to preschool and you would think by 8:45am the roads would have cleared out, but I still run into some hang ups.

Kildaire Farm (Cary) at the intersection of Penny Rd. The traffic of Kildaire backs up to the Glenaire Subdivision & sometimes Mill Pond Village (intersection of Kildaire and Ten Ten) and that traffic light is not doing a good job of clearing the traffic.

Ten Ten Road(Cary/Apex) is only two lanes and at times it can quite busy. They keep building all these subdivisions off of Ten Ten and yet the road stays the same. It is really getting bad. I know all the new subdivisions have been set back from the road to allow for a widening, but they just repaved a good portion of it near me and I haven't heard didly about a widening project starting. I think it is sometime in the future.

Glenaire is a retirement community off Kildaire Farm Rd in downtown Cary. It is not far from my home. Traffic is not really an issue in this area. Is there another Glenaire? Or perhaps you mean the Glenridge subdivision South of US 1 near Apex?

Ahhh, I think you're right.. It's Glen something... probably is Glenridge. It's off of Kildaire between Ten Ten & Penny Rd.
