A certain city data poster was named best local blog - I know I can't link to the actual blog here, but can I say a hearty congrats to BCR and provide the link to the Best of the Triangle ?

^^ He really does have the best blog. Glad to see him get recognition. I always like the Best Of List in the Indy.

Yanno, I used to like the "Best Of" list better back in the 90s. I think it's declining. Not that many of the choices aren't really GOOD places, and a great reference for people who are new to the area.

But, really? Is Brigs the best we have to offer for breakfast around here? Good grief, no!

I found out the Best of Western Wake allows entries from big chains, and they CAN advertise to rally for votes.

That's just unfair to our local businesses.

Okay... off my soapbox now.

It was...

Peace
Camera Works
Southeastern
Wolf Camera

...in that order.

Wolf closed half their stores (if not more) and don't even carry Canon equipment anymore. Glad people seem to be noticing they can get better service locally.

Yeah... I think Wolf is moving to online only, maybe?

Last time I went into one of their stores, the selection was horrible.

I do like Peace.... never been to Camera Works. Where's it located?

Some of the results are horrible.

Legends is the best dance club? I mean absolutely no offense to the gay community, but really? Must have just been a matter of rallying voters on that one. The Borough won half of the "raleigh bar scene" stuff? (or so it seems). How does that happen? As far as I know, it's not nearly the most popular downtown raleigh bar.

^^

Some of the results seem to align with what I would expect. I agree that others are a bit dubious. Due to the nature of the survey the results are biased by the population who is willing to take the time to fill them out. I take all "best of" with a grain of salt since they are so easily swayed when people invest the time to promote themselves. Still it gives you an idea of what is out there to explore as possible options in each category.
