We moved here recently so I'm still learning about all there is to do in the triangle area. I have a friend coming to visit for just Saturday evening. An ideal night would be some shopping (small shops/boutiques preferred), then a nice dinner and dessert. Live music would be a bonus. She'll be here at about 5pm and we could get to most anywhere in the triangle by 6 (willing to drive). Can you think of any places that fit the bill or come close? Thanks in advance!!

North Hills can be fun: North Hills Raleigh - Shopping, Dining, Movies and Events

I like Spring Rolls (a restaurant) for dinner.

It also has a Ben & Jerry's and a movie theater.

For live music just take a look in the Indy. You can click on the 'Region' on the left and it will update.

Independent Weekly | Events | Music | Durham

I go to Broad Street Cafe a lot, and there are shops and food on 9th Street, but I think there are good shops, food and live music all over the triangle. It really just depends on what type of music you like, but the indy generally has most stuff listed. Have Fun!

Both Cameron Village and North Hills are great ideas! I think Cameron Village is a bit more unique (love Accipiter and 10,000 Villages!), plus Gigi's Cupcakes is nearby!

Whenever I've been to Cameron Village on a Saturday night, most of the stores are closed....North Hills probably a better bet for someone looking to pop into stores in addition to eating.

Thanks everyone! I was concerned about shops being closed on a Saturday evening - we may just stick with food and music, which is cool too! I will definitely check out your suggestions - thanks!
