We are considering a purchase in the Brightwood Trails neighborhood in South Durham. Any info I find seems to be quite dated. Their FB page has posts from 2011. Does anyone have any info about this subdivision? We want to live in a neighborhood with a good community feel, but prefer new construction. We aren't looking for a neighborhood where people just keep to themselves. I know the public schools aren't great, and we will have to do private school so I think we'd feel better knowing that at least the neighborhood is close, involved, and not on the decline. Any info would be great!

Hi, Just seeing if you moved forward with Brightwood, we are also considering it and curious what you ended up doing.

We did not end up going thru with the sale. Being a part of an active/close community is really important to us and I was never able to get in touch with anyone about the community. I was also really unimpressed with the school the neighborhood is zoned for after touring it. We were relocating from Seattle and both our neighborhood and public school were really fantastic and we felt moving to this neighborhood could possibly be a major disappointment for more than one reason, so we just decided to rent for a year to buy us some time and find a neighborhood we really want to be invested in.

We ended up renting in Cary so our daughter will be attending our local public school. Our son is attending The Fletcher Academy in Northwest Raleigh, but that is a private school. Sorry I can't be more help.
