I Was driving along Strickland Road in N. Raleigh this past weekend and noticed a HUGE crane (Like the ones you see at the construction site of the downtown convention center) and a very large constrcution site near the intersection of Lead Mine Road. Anybdoy know what is being built there? Whatever it is I guess it is going to be quite large hence the need for a gigantic crane.

It's a retirement community.

Thanks for the link. Holy cow! That is going to be one big retirement community! Did you see the price ranges listed on the website? Prices ranging from $330K to $850+! Yikes!

Here is an aerial photo of the project site location from the website. The website says it will be 48 acres.

I know, it's crazy. I mean who isn't looking for a 2700 square foot 2 bedroom cottage?

I drove by the Cypress construction site today. That place looks like it is going to be HUGE. I couldn't get a good picture from my vantage point, but here is a shot of one of the two cranes. Should be very interesting to see how this retirement community turns out.
