I have been on several forums today looking for a recommendation for the top neurosurgeon in the Triangle Area. My mother has a colloid cyst and her current surgeon told her to wait and see for another year. It has grown from 12mm to 17.7mm in a year. I am very concerned and want a second opinion for her. Any help from this forum would be great. Thanks!
Your two best bets are to see Dr. Allan Friedman with Duke University or Dr. Takanori Fukushima with Carolina Neuroscience Institute. I saw Dr. Fukushima in the past for a Pineal Cyst. These two are amongst the best in the world at what they do. I believe Dr. Fukushima was Dr. Friedmans mentor at Duke. You can't go wrong with either one.

You are welcome. I know Dr. Fukushima had some youtube videos of his surgery at one point. The guy is a rock star when it comes to brain surgery. Best of luck either way!
Dr. Friedman is not only the best neuro surgeon in the world, but a truly honest and decent human being. He does all he can for his patients, and always tells the truth. A great person. If you need to see him, you can rest assured that you got the absolute best attention and care a person can receive!
