My husband is in school for automotive technology and he was wondering if there are any such places in the area that will rent out a garage for mechanics or mechanics in training to do work? He'd want the place to have a lift too.

Does his school not have a garage that it gives their students access? I thought that Wake Tech did for their students.

Ah, but there is one coming back!

Check out this link to the Tech Shop in RDU. TechShop RDU Community Website | Build your dreams HERE

They have all the tools and workshop space to do metal, glass, fabric, welding, auto repairs, and more etc. Their shop has one bay (I cannot recall if it has a lift). It is a membership club and you have to pay to take the classes to be certified then rent the space for your project but if you need an obscure and expensive piece of equipment or a lift this might work.

They also sponsor internet based coupons from time to time.

He's at Durham Tech and they don't allow students to do this any longer, hence the reason he's trying to find some place to rent.

There is a place on Roxboro Rd. near the Kroger plaza...I cannot think of the name right now but will pay better attention & attempt to post it the next time I get on here. I believe it is rentals only, their sign states they have lifts I think, & it has 4-6 bays for use.

Yup I drive by this everyday. You can rent bays to do work. I think there is 5 of them.

Do you have any more specifics on where it is? We frequent that area quite often and I cannot place where it might be.

I think it's between the Kroger and the Sherwin Williams paint store - on that side of the street. Its on Roxboro, but set back a little so you might not notice it right away. I have to go past there this morning, I'll see if I can find a name or number and post it here.
