Looking for a very thorough, well qualified house inspector for a home buyer in the Chapel Hill - Raleigh area. Several have been recommended to me but I'm finding it hard to intelligently choose the best among them or to consider others. Recommended to me: Clawson Jernigan, Ron Wells, Bill Delamar, and Tracy Law. DM me please if it is not permitted on the forum to make a specific recommendation. Thanks. I've read past posts and am still wondering.

We JUST used Clawson Jernigan a couple of weeks ago. He was EXCELLENT and VERY thorough! He spent over 4 hours going over our house, and we got a report with pictures just a few days later. Our Realtor recommended him, and we were very impressed. Two thumbs up.
Read the comments and posts of and about "'Sacred Grooves" of A1 Home Inspectors A-1 House Inspectors an extremely experienced home inspector who gives a lot of his time to this forum.
He and his family have performed tens of thousands of home inspections and are quite experienced.

+1 for Clawson. My realtor recommended him to me as well.
We just had a house inspected by Bob Medlin and couldn't be more satisfied. The inspection on this ~1900 sq ft house took approximately four house and he was incredibly thorough, and even found a 22 caliber bullet lodged in the roof (eagle eye)! He welcomes and prefers the home buyer to be present during the inspection so you can ask questions and note important locations, such as main water shut off, etc. The report we received the next day was extremely detailed and included large number of issues we would have never found ourselves.
+1 sacredgrooves and A1 Home Inspectors. He did our new home construction and radon inspections a few years ago and was very professional and thorough.
I appreciate the compliments everyone! The names mentioned in this thread are all Inspectors that I know and respect. The one positive in the housing recession is that many of the "less qualified/experienced" inspectors have left the field, which is a win for those that are buying a house. That is about the only positive with the market, but I will take what I can get lol.
