Is there one place (e.g. a particular neighborhood) to drive through and look at good holiday lights and decorations?
Some cities have a popular neighborhood that goes all-out with their holiday lights/decorations, but I haven't heard of where to go in the Triangle area for this type of thing. Thanks!
I took my 6 year old daughter out to the Dominion Park/Harrington Pointe neighborhood off of Leesville Road just north of RDU airport last night. A lot of houses there had nice displays. Only a few were "Griswald" worthy, but there were enough to make it more interesting than my own neighborhood.
One house in particular had an inflatable outhouse with Santa peeking out the door that my daughter found irresistibly funny.
The house at the corner of Crimmons Cir and Kilarney right off Cary Pkwy has all their lights set to music. There is another house just down the street that is very lit up too.
We took a drive and for fun tried to find Santa in the Outhouse last night but he must have been hiding! It was just after 10 and we did see a dark yard with a lot of deflated decorations so maybe they had it on a timer or something. We'll catch him another night!
I just realized Friday a house in the neighborhood across from us has one of those light shows timed to music on their house this year. We're going to go check it out tonight since my sister is in town. It's on Kilarney Drive just after you turn off of Cary Parkway, near Trader Joe's.

That house is on Crimmons on the corner of Crimmons and Kilarney. Creates quite a challenge getting out of our neighborhood!
Just checked out the house on Kilarney! How much fun is that!? I am quite impressed...for lots of lights and "blow up" figures, check out Green Level Road in Cary, there are some great decorations there, not set to music but fun to look at regardless!
