My 9 year old daughter requested that we have an "adventure" day. She LOVES the idea of zip lining and that sort of thing. I'm lost--I have no idea where to find something like this around here--she said something about "being 50 feet in the air and doing obstacles." I'm pretty sure she saw this on TV. I have 3 kids and take each one out individually now and then--one likes movies, one likes the ballet, this one apparently wants me to break my neck
We went here in October. It was an amazing experience and economical compared to other ziplines. The only regret I have is that we didn't go to the zoo afterwards.
You have to be 10 to zip in Fayetteville or anywhere else I know of in NC. Having two 9 year olds who have been watching their older sister zip here for the past 4 years, I am well aware of age limits! We just took them to Belize and zipped there...no age limits!
I agree with NRG. Go to Triangle Rock Club in Morrisville and climb for the afternoon. They have bouldering there...look ma, no ropes! My kids are on the team there and LOVE it. Awesome club with great staff. And Lugano's Italian around the corner is great for pizza after!
Wow, thank you for all the great ideas!!! It does look like she is too young AND too small for most ziplining. But we'll be checking out all these places, starting in Morrisville since we live there. I thought she was thinking of Wipeout, too! She says no. She's a gymnast with tons of energy despite being incredibly small, so I need to find someplace that will let her play even though she's small and young!
Richland Creek Ziplining is great! We had a blast and seems like your daughter will be old enough to go there. Should check it out! Richland Creek Zipline - Welcome (http://www.richlandcreekzipline.com/Richland%20Creek%20Zipline.aspx - broken link)
Re: Richland Creek, Maybe its just me, but I worry when I see a place that has pics on its site of people zipping upside down. I always thought that was pretty dangerous. Isn't that how the kid died at the zipline at Camp Oak Hill? Of course, I think he was strapped in backwards too.
