Hello!

My husband is looking for a recruiter in the area. He is in the video game industry, and would like to stay in this industry, but will consider a change for the right position. We are eager to move to this area (we live in MA currently) but jobs would be helpful before making this move :-). If anyone can personally recommend a good recruiter in the area, we would be most grateful!! Thanks in advance!

there are a couple of video game companies - I assume you mean he creates xBox, PS360 and Wii games - in the area. There's also at least 1 local post-high school outfit training game developers. Seems like a highly-desired work area these days. I'd check that first - google them. I *think* Gears of War comes out of RTP.

Whether IT recruiters hire into the field, I can't say that I know. But I know some recruiters and will try to ask.

Did he check to see if Epic Games is hiring yet? That's the first thing I'd check.

Given that it's a relatively small field with a few local companies, wouldn't it be easier just to contact those companies directly rather than working through a headhunter? Many companies don't even use headhunters and aren't willing to pay the fees they charge for placing an employee, especially in a market where there are more candidates than jobs.
