After being glued to my computer and this site for the last 4 months, we finally got up and went to Raleigh. Spent 3 days there last weekend. Had a very nice trip thanks to this websight and the helpful people that post here. My wife and I drove approximately 550 miles in the 3 days between Saxapahaw, Sanford, Clayton and everywhere in-between. Scenery was awesome, people were very friendly. I could get used to strangers waving hello.
The pictures and descriptions of different towns, places, and traffic, were most helpfull but they really don't do it justice untill you actually go and see for yourself. Clayton was the place we liked the best and we could surely see ourselves living there. Definately need to make another trip or two.

Sounds like you had a great trip! Where are you coming from? We relocated to Clayton from NJ over a year ago and love it.

Good luck with your adventure and stay glued to the board as the folks here are invaluable in helping a make tough change (relocation) go easier.

Lauren

Lauren,
We flew up from Miami and it was an awesome trip. We had lunch at Smithfields Chicken and BBQ (plane hit McCalls that morning). Checked the traffic and shopping in the area and it really isn't that bad. Thanks to the posts from you and Ferrickhead28 I drove around like I had been there before even though I hadn't.
Seems to be quite a few S/D's we missed so we still want to go back and check out more, but we definately liked Clayton. Thanks.

Hey glad we could help. I WISH I had been a regular here when we were relocating. With two kids, it was tough but so very worth it. Just keep your eyes on the goal!

There's no way you can see ALL the S/Ds in Clayton....near impossible I would say. To me, the key is finding an area in Clayton (or any other town) that you really like and then narrow down to the S/D. Although price range dictated where we looked.

Lauren
