Hi
We are contilplating a job in Wilson. My question is what is a nice rural area we have two small children . I have been doing some research and saw Clayton as a possibility any other suggestions?we like a small town feel with the obvious good schools, low crime. My husband doesnt mind a commute
Thanks so much
Kelli

Clayton is nice. And there's also the Archer Lodge area and the Johnston county portions of Wendell and Zebulon (which would provide you with access to Wilson via the 42). The schools in Johnston county are pretty good.

There's nothing really "near" Wilson that's nice. Good thing your husband doesn't mind a commute.

Where are you coming from?

Bing Maps - Driving Directions, Traffic and Road Conditions

27 miles from Flowers Plantation in Clayton east to DT Wilson. GOOG maps says 40 minutes. It is rural, two lane, somewhat heavily traveled.
Many people will tell you that Flowers Plantation is nice enough.

Have you ever lived in a small town? Not a quaint place just a few miles from another quaint place, but one that takes a good drive to get to?

I always wonder that when people move from larger cities/towns.

Where does your family live?

Wilson *IS* rural depending on where you're from. The nice is debatable as is whether we'd do it the same way over again if we had the chance.

But, it took getting used to and has its quirks, but we like where we are at the moment. Our kids are all out of school so I can't vouch for the schools here.

Best,

Dave
