I am planning to move to Cary, and found a house in Harmony reserve. I am planning to buy and close in one week. Appreciate any feedback about this neighbourhood. Is it close to 540?. Any good and bad things about this neighbourhood. I currently living in Pulte home and know about the builder.

Reserve is on the upper end of the Harmony collection.

Personally, I think that Pulte is an OK builder for the $200K-$300K, so the Harmony Glen and Pointe are sound purchases. However, the Reserve is getting into the $400K-450K price range, and for this price you can get much better quality of homes.

Stonewater, Horton's Creek, Greystone are all in the same price range (give or take 10%) but the home quality is much higher and the location much better since these neighborhoods are in the new part of Cary, unlike Harmony that is on the border of Apex and Cary.

I inspected many of the houses throughout Harmony and we had high radon test results roughly 75% of the time. Pulte will only let you trst after closing and if found, they will give you $1500....which is a few hundred short of the cost to fix it.

Default Harmony and 540

It really depends on where you are in Harmony.

Harmony circled in red.

540 roughly in the yellow.

Excellent point. Pulte has improved in quality over the last few years but I would not spend 400+ for a Pulte home. There are better options available.

We looked at Harmony Reserve, Stonewater, Hortons Creek, Highcroft, etc and ended up buying at Greystone Estates by MI homes. We feel we got the best value for money at Greystone compared to all other neighborhoods in West Cary.

We lived in a Pulte neighborhood in Cary. Houses sold from the low $400s (lower than was initially planned but Pulte added some smaller homes at the end) to close to $800k. There are many buyers that don't have a problem spending over $400k on a Pulte home in the Triangle. Everything's a tradeoff--you don't get a custom home but you get more space. IMO you're getting what you're paying for and the notion that you shouldn't pay over $400k for a Pulte home is silly.

For the money, you can buy better than these Pulte Homes. Built on concrete slabs, which is cheap construction, and certainly not necessary here in the Piedmont. One often sees it at the coast, but there is no call for a concrete slab here, where foundations do not tend to shift as readily.
