My wife has a few old plane/tank/ship models that her father bought but never built. She would like to sell them if she can. I think most of them are from the 70's. Are there any shops in the area that buys stuff like that?

We looked into this last year and you'll get better prices selling on Ebay most of the time.

Rather not deal with ebay unless we have too. We are hoping to just find somebody local so we wouldn't have to deal with packing them up and shipping them out.

eBay or craigslist. eBay will get you a bigger audience. Places like the UPS store can pack and ship, but you'd have to factor that cost into the total shipping amount.

Don't know of any local business, but you could email this place and see what he would give you. Old Model Kits: Aurora, Revell, Monogram and other rare and out of production model kits

They also have places (or individuals) who will do the "business" side of eBay for you (including shipping etc), for a cut.

I would use ebay as a guide to see if what you have has any value. Some older kits are scarce and in demand, others have been produced for such a long time you can't give them away.

Best,

Dave
