We've had visits from AT&T U-Verse reps as late as 7PM in Cary. Cary town ordinance states:
"Such peddling/soliciting shall be permitted only between the hours of 9:00 a.m.
and 6:00 p.m. during eastern daylight time and 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. during
eastern standard time."
The rep seemed unconcerned when I informed her that she is in violation of her permit agreement.
We've asked them in the past to please remove us from their list. However, they installed their partial fiber lines in the neighborhood and are likely trying to reach their quota. Would you consider reporting this to the police?
No, I wouldn't report. I'd move on with life. Those jobs don't pay a whole lot and the rep is trying to make a living. They did the same thing to my neighborhood when they brought their lines through.
I am normally pretty anti-solicitor, but honestly if AT&T came and said we could finally get Uverse I would probably hug them. We are in a 6 year old neighborhood with fiber already running along the curb but can't get Uverse yet due to AT&T making a string of crappy decisions with vendors and a general lack of care for customers. But I'd rather give them money than Time Warner like I do now.
But if they continued coming after I had told them not to I might drop a line to the town.

Just put up a no soliciting sign and move on. If that doesn't work, then call police or town if it is bothering you that much. Another option, just don't answer the door.
we've had AT&T reps knock on our door & ring the doorbell at 7PM & 8PM. i told that rep that i'd spoken with her previous coworkers (even earlier that day) & advised that i was not interested & asked that they would stop coming to us (they've come to our house approximately 5x within the last couple of months). she said that she could "note it" but that they are basically told to disregard that by their managers & still knock even if the request is made to stop bothering them. i have no idea (1) why she'd tell me that & (2) why a manager would even tell them that but i found it odd.
i really, really, really hate door-to-door solictation. it's bad enough that they send us at least one piece of mail per week that immediately gets recycled. i'm considering the no solicitation sign but hate the aesthetics of it.
