OK, I know this subject is sticky, but I need to discuss this seriously. I receive emails alerting me as to who has moved close by who is a registered sex offender. I found out today that a new sex offender as of last year has moved into my neighborhood as in 3 doors down. Now this guy was convicted on 20 counts of child pornography of children as young as 5 having sex with adults. He is 48 years old and resides with his G/F and her children. (My neighbor met him recently and she told me about the G/F and children). I might ad that this offender worked for local law enforcement Highway Patrol as a civilian in computer technology.
How do I know this other 411? It's public knowledge and I asked the right questions when speaking to law enforcement. So, how do I alert my neighbors in a VERY kid inhabited neighborhood? I don't like the idea of this creep living here period. Yeah yeah someone out there will "defend" his rights, I don't care about that period. Those children who he was viewing had their rights stripped away, so I am not hearing that period. This guy has a problem, he likes to watch children and that is sick. This neighborhood in Cary has no community organization or news letter or anything. It's a nice neighborhood filled with little boys and girls whose parents need to be notified. Any suggestions??? Please do not be rude to me when responding to this very sensitive topic.

When one moved into my neighborhood, several neighbors formed a group and went door to door to alert everyone. If someone wasn't home, they left a flyer. Good luck!

I would think if his offense happened within the last year he would probably be on some sort of probation and not be allowed to live in a place where there are children around. I don't know how it works though.

Are you sure your community isn't on Nextdoor? Worth checking into/setting up.

I wish they were all locked up forever but...

I don't think they restrict them from normal neighborhoods, because that would be everywhere.
I think it is just a distance from schools & daycares..

I would think that as this type offender he would be going against his parole by being involved w/ someone who has children living w/ him.

I would contact probation and parole specifically whomever does the supervision of sex offenders and report him and give the details of the small children living in his residence. He may be using a fake address for his parole.

I would also anonymously warn this single mother...It is well known that these type people often prey on single parents to get close to children.

I hope you can get something done asap. Scarey, very scarey.

You should be able to find the number for probation and parole looking under state and or county listngs in your phone book. Keep us updated, please. And good luck!

I suggest calling your local Police department with your concerns and see if he is breaking any laws by living with or near children.

I would go door to door. If you were my neighbor and came by and informed us, I would be extremely grateful.
