My husband and I have been living in San Antonio, TX for the past 5 years and we are ready for a change. We are both originally from different parts of VA and still have most of our family there. We would like to be closer but don't want to move to VA, so NC it is. We've heard nothing but great things about the Raleigh area and the last time we both were there we loved it. We are looking for an area we can rent a townhouse/single family home for at least a year. We have a toddler and are looking for an area that has people our age (late 20s) with young children. We are looking to spend around $1300-$1500 on rent for a 3bed/2ba home.

Please let me know if you have suggestions of a certain area around the Raleigh area. We'd ideally like to move in the next 6-8 months.

Is there a job you will be commuting to? That makes a difference where people recommend housing.

Not sure on job location yet, as one hasn't been secured. My husband is medically retired so we plan on moving and finding work once we get there. We'll be able to sustain ourselves on that income alone which is why I hadn't specified specific area.
