I'm not familiar with the area so what are some good things to do here?

I'm bored so I want to meet new people and try new things.

I know they have restaurants and stores here but you go there to eat and shop so not sure if they are good places to meet people.

I currently go to Barnes & Noble to read some stuff and hang out. I am single btw so I prefer places that have girls.... Should I just approach girls that go to Barnes & Noble or would it be a little awkward?

I don't know this area so I don't know where I should go.

You should check out the garden section at Lowes.

I second meetup.com. Church if that's your sort of thing. If you're into sci-fi/fantasy/steampunk/Dr. Who, you should make the trek to Pittsboro for one of the events at Davenport and Winkleperry. Davenport & Winkleperry

Several good pubs in both towns, where you can strike up a conversation while quaffing a pint.

Hibernian
Corner Bar
Mac's
Spirits
Abby Road
Daugherty's

My Way
Bass Lake
(one other new one, I can't recall)
etc.

Just a very short list, there are many.

Also greeways, umstead, or if you are "old" and single, I hear Tony's Oyster Bar on a Saturday night is a meat market. ha!

Do you own a unicorn suit or an Ernest Borgnine mask? All my suggestions hinge on these two items.

Ugh...no. Don't think I'm going to like your suggestions lol.

For now, I think I will try Barnes & Noble, meetup.com and volunteer.

Maybe volunteering? Do you have an interest in people, nature, pets, sports, politics, etc? There should be a variety of opportunities to do something good and meet people with similar interests.
